David Anderson, District Attorney
David Anderson was elected District Attorney of Mono County on June 7, 2022 and assumed office on January 3, 2023. David is a career prosecutor who focuses on treating everyone fairly and protecting the community he is fortunate to call his home.
David graduated from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA with a BA in Political Science in 2003 and from Chapman University School of Law with a JD in 2007. He then joined the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office and served in a wide range of divisions. After being awarded Prosecutor of the Year in 2008, David was assigned to the Major Crimes/Gang Unit where he served until his departure in 2012. During his time in the Gang Unit, David prosecuted a wide variety of crimes ranging from simple gun possession to capital murder.
David began his service to Mono County in 2012 when he was hired as a Deputy District Attorney. David was promoted to Assistant District Attorney the following year and prosecuted the most serious crimes in the county, including successfully trying the first murder jury trial Mono County had seen in nearly a century. The trial resulted in a Life Without Parole sentence.
David believes service to his community goes beyond his position as District Attorney. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Southern Mono Healthcare District for six years, including three years as Board Chair; he serves as a Little League and AYSO coach as well as on both leagues’ Board of Directors; and serves on the leadership team for his local church.
